History:

Isabel is the founder of this Long Island, NY based 12 step program.  It began over 20 years ago with Isabel’s own determination to be "fixed" from the patterns of what she now knows is called "codependency".

At that time, Isabel had been "born again" for over 15 years and she was desperate to find a source of Christ-centered freedom from her performance-based, approval-seeking behaviors.  Her search led her to a trusted friend and Christian counselor, with whom she began a group study of The Twelve Steps: A Spiritual Journey, a biblically-based recovery workbook.

The following year, Isabel invited a few close friends to share that journey of emotional and relational healing.  Each week, seven ladies gathered in Isabel's living room to support one another in seeking a personal paradigm shift, from "Lord, change them!" (husbands, parents, children, co-workers, pastors, etc.) to "Lord, change ME!

Today Freedom! O Daughter of Zion has grown to a women’s recovery program that has partnered with hundreds of women throughout Long Island in helping them break free of the bonds of codependency.  It is a successful and flourishing biblical 12 step approach to healing and freedom.
